Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as the label's debut female singer on Dreamville Records by J. Cole. In October 21st, 2016, she released Pho, her debut EP on the label Dreamville Records. This was when she began to gain the attention of her peers. Shea Butter Baby released her debut studio album 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox posted her songs online in 2012, when she dropped her Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. The singer continued uploading her songs online throughout 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. On July 21 2015 she appeared on Omen's album Elephant Eyes with the track Sweat it Out. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville team at the time, wanted to have her perform on Rihanna and Rihanna-related songs. On December 8, that she was signed to Dreamville Records. In the release album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the song Backseat along with Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released under the name Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and also performed as the opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018 she guest-starred on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang in the video for Nothing but the Best. And Bas On Icarus. The 16th of July, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video that was released on the 5th of September. Her second single, Grampa on November 9. Two additional singles were also released on the 11th of November Pedigree and No One. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, February 26, 2019 for the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed alongside Cole as part of the Creed II sound track on November 16. In February of 2019, a music clip was released for the song. The track has received more than three millions views on YouTube within its initial week. In December of 2018, she was performing as a support act on From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
