Louisa Krause was born in New York City. She performed the role of Anna Garner the leading role in The Girl Experience. Brenda Woodberg played her first part on the screen in Babysitters in which she starred in the character of Brenda Woodberg. Krause, who studied drama in the college level, has been featured on a variety of off-Broadway productions and New York network television series. The family of her father is Japanese descent as is her mother who is American. Nathaniel, her younger brother is also a director. As a young girl she found her passion for dance by attending classes at the Washington School of Ballet. Krause attended the Carnegie Mellon Drama School after the high school. Krause made the decision to begin her acting career shortly after. Through a musical adaptation of Aida she was awarded her Equity Card. Louisa Krause started her career as a theatre actress. She made her debut in 2006 at her company, the Huntington Theatre Company. 2007 was the year she was Iphigenia at the Signature Theater Company's Iphigenia 2 performance.
