Kim Delaney, an American actress, is best known for her character Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series, for which she won the Emmy Award. Delaney, the only child of an United Auto Workers senior executive as well as a domestic worker was raised by four brothers and sisters. Her first film role was as a teenage innocent in All My Children, a 1981 soap opera. Since then Delaney has appeared in numerous TV dramas and films. Similar to her profession but her personal life hasn't been easy or prosperous. The talented actress has struggled with alcoholism in the past and had two divorces. In 2005, her custody was taken away from her.
